First stop…… Wilsons Promontory

Hi everyone, apologies for the delay in posting, we have not had internet coverage for a while. We’ve been sailing for almost 2 weeks now, and our first stop was at the beautiful ‘Prom.’

We spent four nights anchored in Refuge Cove and one night in Little Waterloo Bay. Sleeping in, hiking, taking photos, snorkelling, spear fishing, sailing and drinking wine; just adjusting to this new life of ours and learning all the ins and outs of the boat.

Matt has a new camera and he’s been experimenting with lots of landscape, wildlife and night sky photos.

Sealers Cove is a beautiful and easy 7 km walk from Refuge Cove, through lush green bush, almost rainforest like at times. We spotted wallabies, kookaburras, lots of little lizards and a snake!

The hike to Little Waterloo Bay was slightly hillier and longer, with a little detour up Kersop’s Peak for some dramatic views.

We also sailed out to Great Glennie Island, south of Wilsons Prom, for a day so Matt could go spearfishing. A tranquil little bay, I hung out in the boat while Matt snorkelled around and caught his first fish!
